A day after what seemed to be the worst hostage-taking crisis in the country, the Philippines once again was plunged into controversy embodied in the controversial Q&A portion of Miss Universe 2010 wherein Miss Universe Philippine candidate, Venus Raj, a favorite to win the crown, gave a surprisingly unconvincing answer when asked by judge William Blake the question: "What is the biggest mistake that you made in your life and what did you do to make it right?" in which she replied: "You know what, sir, in my 22 years of existence, I can say that there's nothing major, major, I mean problem that I've done in my life because I'm very confident with my family, with the love that they are giving to me. So thank you so much that I'm here. Thank you, thank you so much".
Just right after the Q&A, Venus RAj and her famous "major, major" answer were already separately trending worldwide in Twitter, and became a very hot topic that I think people would not remember and discuss the Miss Universe 2010 pageant without additionally referring to Raj's "major,major" answer. In the Philippines, "major, major" is said to be the english version of the Tagalog term "bonggang bongga".

That alone should give her the leeway, right? So what if she's fourth runner-up? and so what that was her answer? The most simple questions always have the most difficult answer.
Raj, who was dethroned by the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc., citing the alleged inconsistencies between her birth certificate and personal account of her birth, holds the record as the first-ever dethroned Binibining Pilipinas to have successfully attempted for a reinstatement of a Binibining Pilipinas crown. In addition, Venus ended the 11-year drought of the Philippines by winning fourth runner-up in the prestigious Miss Universe Pageant.
